Story
Chef Ben Bebenroth named his grandfather Carl “Boom” for his hard-working spirit. Boom, a Great Depression survivor, WWII veteran, and community advocate, inspired Chef Ben to persevere after closing Spice Kitchen + Bar in 2020. Boom’s values of respect, community investment, and pride in one’s work live on in our culture.
